private concert with Nathan and Emilyn,
two young musicians/entertainers who are simply sensational,
and as you may know, with concert halls closed, musicians don’t have a lot of gigs these days and we would like to support them.
$25 - $30 sliding scale - all monies go directly to the musicians to help fund their eventual first tour….bring in an envelope and just drop it in the basket and find a spot to settle.
It’s a house concert but outside in the orchard - masks when you arrive and move around, but when you settle, you can relax and take them off - bring your own whatever you want to eat or drink because feeding you is so problematic, though I might have some cookies and cider to share and as the garden is coming to a close, please feel free to pick a bouquet of flowers for yourself.
Some of you might remember Nathan from our Grace Tipling Hall Concerts and Sunday Service.
Here’s more about our musical guests:
"Traditions swirl and intermingle in the music of multi-instrumentalists Nathan Smith and Emilyn Stam. Drawn together by their shared love of québecois fiddle and piano music, Nathan and Emilyn's combined influences and pursuits include bluegrass, old-time, Scandinavian, and Western European traditional music. Their strong vocals, clever songwriting, and unique instrumental magic are an enchantment and a delight to audiences. Both are prolific tune composers with a flair for combining their creative spark with the timeless vitality of traditional songs and tunes.
In addition to playing their favourite traditional numbers, the duo will be playing songs from Nathan's debut album, "Let it Rest, Let it Rise." The album was officially released in February, you may be able to grab a copy at the concert!"
