Back to the Garden

Since inviting guest ministers and speakers to our Sunday Services we have had inspirational messages of reaching out to help those in need, working on creating a beloved community, evolving our church in new ways, and tapping into the power of our imaginations.

Anyone listening to the radio, watching TV, or scrolling through news items on their cell phone, cannot help but be aware of the many pressing concerns afflicting our world today. If only we could collectively hit a reset button, and move forward with creative, healing, constructive, and positive solutions, bringing about true reconciliation, restoration, and respect for humankind and the earth it inhabits!

The human mind is capable of great thoughts and achieving great feats. Think of people like: St. Thomas Aquinas, Confucius, Hypatia of Alexandria, Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Jane Goodall, David Suzuki, Malala Yousafzai, and Elon Musk, to name a few. How is it that there are people in history, and among us today, who rise to the challenges of the world they live in, and bring about progress and change for the better?

In the below articles we are presented with the concept of needing quiet and peaceful spaces to regenerate and nourish our souls. What better setting than a beautiful garden simultaneously bursting with colour and life, while exuding peace and serenity. Perhaps if we spent more time in the garden we could get in touch with our powers of imagination and be inspired to bring about the beloved community Jesus wants us to create.
