Soup Haus

Souphaus opened their loving embrace to the Shelburne community three years ago this coming November. Soyhala Smith is the head chef and along with Josh Oatman and their many devoted volunteers, they serve nutritious, complimentary dinners for whomever would enjoy an evening out. Thick soups, delicious appetizers, fresh bread or scones, and yummy deserts are all to be enjoyed. The only thing required of the guests is to make a reservation. In an atmosphere of joy and beauty Souphaus is making a little oasis of radical hospitality in the downstairs of the Trinity United Church.

The heart of this wonderful initiative is sharing the bounty all around us. Many individuals, companies, and small groups support this great adventure. As well as serving weekly meals, there are always extra treats to take home that Soyhala has assembled - banana loafs, fresh produce, treats of various kinds. It is a time when a family or a couple or a group of friends can put aside their cares of the moment and enjoy a restaurant like meal, complete with full table service at no cost.

Trinity partners with Souphaus by providing the kitchen and dining facilities for their delightful community creation.
