Melissa Galbraith, MSW, RSW, is a local physiotherapist. As a part of the LGBTQ community, she is am aware of the isolation and lack of support that can be felt by folks who hold this identity. She began this group at Trinity to build up support and decrease isolation that some youth may face.

It can be scary for a youth to realize they identity under the LGBTQ umbrella and feel they do not have the support of their family and close friends. I started this group to create a space where youth can feel safe and supported, and meet others they can relate to and build connections with. This groups is a space where youth can come to talk about issues they may not be able to talk about with other folks in their life, or just to come and hang out with others. We play games, have snacks, make DIY stress balls, and just hang out and chat. Come check us our and see if this is group is a good fit for you.

This group is aimed at supporting folks between the ages of 13-23, although, if you are reading this and interested, but not within these age limits, please reach out me and we can chat about how you can access support.Note: This group is currently on hold due to COV-ID 19. But you can still contact Melissa to speak with her.
